Privacy Policy

This notice is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and explains how personal data are processed when you visit the website of Oltremare, an affittacamere (guest rooms) in Polignano a Mare (BA, Italy) with the two apartments Oltremare 16 and Oltremare 45. The website is for information purposes only.

2. Data processed

The website is an information showcase: it has no contact forms, reserved areas, booking or payment systems. Enquiries and bookings take place outside the website, through the direct contacts (phone, WhatsApp, email) or third-party platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb) the website simply links to.

As with any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes some technical browsing data needed for the service to work securely:

  • the IP address of the device;
  • browser and operating system (user agent);
  • date and time of the request, pages requested and outcome of the connection.

These data are not used to identify you and are not combined with other information.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Operation and security of the website (serving pages, preventing abuse, diagnostics): legitimate interest of the controller and the hosting provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Legal obligations, where keeping certain logs is required by law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

No processing is based on consent: the website uses no profiling cookies, analytics tools or data-collection forms.

4. Direct contact: phone, WhatsApp and email

The tel:, mailto: and wa.me links open the app already on your device: the website itself collects or transmits no data. If you choose to write or call, the controller processes the data in your message (name, contact details, dates and details of the stay, anything else you share) to answer your request and, where relevant, manage the booking, on the basis of pre-contractual measures or the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Data are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and, if you stay, for the periods required by tax and public-security rules (guest registration, tourist tax).

WhatsApp messages travel through the infrastructure of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. (Meta group), an independent controller for the data processed by its service. You can use email or phone instead if you prefer.

Bookings made on Booking.com and Airbnb are governed by those platforms' privacy notices, as independent controllers.

5. Fonts and external resources

Fonts are hosted on the website's own domain (self-hosted): they are not requested from Google or any other provider, so your IP address is not shared with third parties. The website embeds no maps, videos, social widgets or other third-party content. The Instagram and Facebook links are plain links: no data is sent to those services unless you choose to open them.

6. Recipients and transfers

Technical browsing data are processed by Cloudflare, Inc. as data processor, including outside the European Economic Area, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. Data are neither disclosed nor sold.

7. Your rights

You can ask the controller at any time for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15-21 GDPR) by writing to oltremarecasavacanze@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).

8. Cookies

9. Changes

This notice may be updated, for example if the website adds new services. The date of the last update is shown at the top.
